Please read these terms carefully before using our services.
By accessing and using the Portland Boxes website and services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
Portland Boxes provides used and new box sales, purchasing of used boxes, box recycling, box transportation, and box refurbishment services. All services are subject to availability and may vary by location. Our services include but are not limited to: retail and wholesale distribution of corrugated containers, gaylord and bulk box sales, scheduled box pickup and recycling programs, custom box sourcing, box grading and inspection, delivery within our service area, and consulting on packaging needs. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time without prior notice. Service availability may be affected by seasonal demand, inventory levels, and operational capacity.
Used boxes are sold in their current condition based on our grading system (A through D grade). While we inspect and grade all boxes carefully, used boxes may show signs of prior use including but not limited to: minor dents, tape residue, printing marks, or slight discoloration. These are normal characteristics of used boxes and do not constitute defects.
All prices are quoted in US dollars. Prices may change without notice based on market conditions, paper commodity prices, and inventory levels. Volume discounts may apply and will be communicated during the quote process. Payment terms will be established at the time of the transaction and may vary based on order size and customer history. Quotes provided by Portland Boxes are valid for seven (7) calendar days unless otherwise stated in writing. Prices quoted do not include applicable taxes, delivery surcharges for extended service areas, or assembly fees unless explicitly stated. We reserve the right to cancel or modify any order where a pricing error has occurred. Returned checks or declined payments may result in additional fees and suspension of credit terms.
Due to the nature of used products, returns are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you receive boxes that are significantly different from the described grade, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the boxes in question. We will work with you to find a satisfactory resolution, which may include replacement, credit, or refund at our discretion. Returns of new boxes in unopened, resalable condition are accepted within 14 days for a full refund minus any delivery charges. Custom-ordered boxes (printed or non-standard sizes) are non-refundable. Restocking fees of 15% may apply to returns of large orders exceeding 500 units. Boxes that have been used, damaged after delivery, or exposed to moisture or contamination are not eligible for return.
When selling boxes to Portland Boxes, the seller warrants that they have the right to sell said boxes and that the boxes are free of contamination or hazardous materials. We reserve the right to refuse any boxes that do not meet our quality standards.
Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Portland Boxes is not responsible for delays caused by weather, traffic, or other circumstances beyond our control. Risk of loss passes to the buyer upon delivery.
Portland Boxes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific transaction in question.

Portland Boxes reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
All products and services provided by Portland Boxes are offered "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Portland Boxes does not warrant that used boxes will be free of all cosmetic imperfections, that box availability will be uninterrupted, or that any specific size or grade will be in stock at the time of your order. Our grading system describes the general condition of boxes based on our inspection standards, but individual boxes within a graded lot may vary slightly. Portland Boxes makes no guarantees regarding the suitability of used boxes for any specific application, and the buyer is responsible for determining whether a particular box grade and size meets their needs.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Portland Boxes, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of our products or services; (b) your violation of these Terms of Service; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; (d) any claim that products purchased from Portland Boxes caused injury, damage, or loss to you or any third party; or (e) your misuse of any box or packaging product, including but not limited to using boxes for purposes or weights beyond their rated capacity. This indemnification obligation shall survive the termination of your relationship with Portland Boxes.
These Terms of Service and any disputes arising from or relating to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon. You hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection to the laying of venue in such courts. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
Portland Boxes shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from any cause beyond our reasonable control. Force majeure events include, but are not limited to: natural disasters (including earthquakes, floods, wildfires, and severe weather events common to the Pacific Northwest); pandemics or public health emergencies; acts of war, terrorism, or civil unrest; government actions, sanctions, or embargoes; labor disputes or strikes not involving our employees; disruptions in transportation or supply chains; power outages or internet service failures; and any other events beyond our reasonable control. In the event of a force majeure, Portland Boxes will make reasonable efforts to resume performance as soon as practicable and will communicate delays to affected customers promptly.
If any provision of these Terms of Service is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by any court or tribunal of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability shall not affect any other provision of these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect, and the invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable while preserving its original intent. If such modification is not possible, the provision shall be deemed severed from these Terms.
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and any written quotes or invoices provided to you, constitute the entire agreement between you and Portland Boxes with respect to your use of our services. These Terms supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, and agreements, whether oral or written, between you and Portland Boxes. No amendment or modification of these Terms shall be effective unless made in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Portland Boxes. The failure of Portland Boxes to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
In the event of any dispute arising under these Terms, the parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails to resolve the dispute within thirty (30) days, either party may initiate mediation through a mutually agreed-upon mediator in Portland, Oregon. Mediation costs shall be shared equally between the parties. If mediation does not result in a resolution within sixty (60) days of initiation, either party may pursue legal remedies in the courts specified in Section 13 above. Nothing in this section shall prevent either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief where necessary to protect its rights.
